Weather Studio is designed to provide personalized weather while minimizing the amount of information we process.
Overview
Weather Studio is a customizable weather application that provides weather dashboards, forecasts, and Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. It lets you add and switch between saved weather locations and customize your dashboards, widgets, and their appearance. This policy describes how information is handled when you use Weather Studio.
Weather Data
Weather Studio uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to obtain weather information such as current conditions, forecasts, and air quality. When you view weather for a selected location, the coordinates of that location may be provided to Apple's weather service so it can retrieve the relevant forecast for you.
Weather Studio does not operate its own weather service or server. Weather data received from Apple may be cached on your device so it can be displayed when offline and made available to your widgets.
Location Information
Weather Studio requests access to your device location only when you choose to use your current location for weather, using Apple's "When In Use" location permission. Location is used only for weather-related features, such as determining which location to show weather for.
If you grant permission, the app determines your device's current location and may use Apple's geocoding services to obtain a city and country name for it. You can also add locations manually by searching; the app uses Apple's geocoding services for those searches.
Saved locations — including the current-location entry if you add it — are stored on your device together with their coordinates (latitude and longitude). Your location data remains local to your device and is not sent anywhere except to Apple's services as needed to provide weather forecasts and to resolve location names. Weather Studio does not send your location to TelemetryDeck or any other analytics service.
Location access is optional.
Analytics
Weather Studio uses TelemetryDeck for privacy-focused product analytics. TelemetryDeck is initialized with an app identifier and records limited usage information, which may include categories such as:
- Product interactions (for example, opening the app, adding or switching weather locations, customizing dashboards, and configuring widgets)
- App version
- Operating system version
- Device information
- Anonymized identifiers
Weather Studio does not include precise locations, city names, coordinates, or weather values in the analytics it sends. Weather Studio does not use TelemetryDeck for advertising or for cross-app tracking.
Data Used for Tracking
Weather Studio does not use collected information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Local Data and Preferences
Weather Studio stores your data locally on your device using Apple's standard device storage. This includes:
- Saved weather locations (with their coordinates)
- The active or selected location
- Dashboard layouts and customization settings
- Widget configurations
- Cached weather data used to display forecasts and power widgets
All of this data stays on your device. Weather Studio does not use iCloud or CloudKit, and there is no account-based cloud syncing.
Widgets
Weather Studio's Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets may access saved configuration (such as which location and layout a widget shows) and cached weather information needed to render widgets. This data is stored in a shared container — an "App Group" — so widgets can display your weather even when the app is not running.
Widgets render from this locally cached information and do not perform their own network requests or collect location data themselves.
Third-Party Services
Weather Studio uses the following third-party services:
- Apple Weather / WeatherKit — Providing current weather, forecasts, and required weather attribution · Coordinates of the selected location
- Apple Maps (MapKit) geocoding — Searching for locations and resolving the current location's city and country name · Search text and location coordinates
- TelemetryDeck — Privacy-focused product analytics · Usage events, app version, OS version, device information, anonymized identifiers

Data Sale
Weather Studio does not sell personal information.
Children's Privacy
Weather Studio is not specifically directed at children under 13, and its features are not designed to collect personal information from children.
Data Retention
Your local configuration — saved locations, dashboard layouts, widget configurations, and cached weather data — remains on your device until you remove or reset it, or until the app is deleted. Weather Studio does not sync this data to a cloud service.

Your Choices
You can control your information in several ways:
- Revoke or change Location permission at any time in iOS/iPadOS Settings (for example, Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, or Settings > Apps > Weather Studio)
- Remove saved locations from within the app
- Modify or remove dashboard layouts
- Modify or remove widgets (including deleting widgets from the Home Screen or Lock Screen)
- Uninstall Weather Studio at any time, which removes Weather Studio's local data from your device
Security
Weather Studio relies on Apple's platform security mechanisms to protect data stored on your device and aims to minimize the amount of personal information it processes. No security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised when material changes are made.
